Silito's Original Thinkology

Welcome to silito's original school of thought.... My first cut deals with the origins of "Fakes" Geezz!!!! This is going to be a mammoth controversial topic of discussion. Figure this out.... Its a simple and indisputable fact that each and every day that passes, people come across different objects but never bother to classify them as fakes or originals.

On a daily bases as I move around my mind gets tempted to classify most of the objects i come across as either fake or original. I will use a very simple and common example....a 'chair'.....Im convinced that majority of people have had the privilege of seeing or sitting on an object called a chair. Try to recall several types of chairs you came across in your life.... can u you try to remember which one of those chairs was the original? By the way, the simplest question that comes to one's mind is "what would be the best criteria of identifying an original chair from a fake one.?"

As for me, when I look at a chair I try to my level best  to imagine how the  first chair looked like... this question will persuade my mind to take a long journey back in time i.e. into  into hundreds of years ago. Fortunately I end up convinced that the first chair to be made was NOT even the original chair. Meanings that i can’t even try to make a comparison of the first chair and today’s chair. So where are we now????  For me, it means that this first chair was just a representation of the original idea of  an object the person wanted to use for sitting on.
This idea brings me to the conclusion that the first chair to be made was only a representation of the idea of an ideal object for sitting on and that is according to that person. Since this chair was not the original one I'm persuaded to classify it as the 'original fake chair' or one can choose to call it as a fake of the original idea of a chair.

This school of thought allows me to safely classify the second chair as a fake of the original fake. In that same order it follows that the third chair to be made can be safely classified as fake of the fake. Then the rest are fakes of the grand fakes. It means chairs that you see today are just objects that cannot be linked to the first generation of fake chairs....

MAKING A POINT

Making a Point.....
Making a Point is an essential part of human expression. Since the beginning of time man has been striving to make a point. It should not surprise you that In this same article I will try by all means to make a point when I clearly know that there is no point in trying to make a point..

So in real sense, on a daily basis human beings struggle to make a point and only after making a point a human being feels comfortable…I should like to believe that by now you should have come across common phrases like. “What’s the point…….”, “he is trying to make a point……..”, “the point is…..”, “that’s not the point……” “What’s your point.”

From these few statements we find ourselves grinding to a halt. This is due to unanswered questions. The most common and basic questions are what’s a point? How can one make a point? What criterion is used to positively identify a point? Or does a point exist anywhere?

I should like to believe that we are concentrating our focus on the wrong area. Instead of us concentrating on making a point why shouldn’t we concentrate on finding out why there is always a point to make or why human beings waste most of their precious time trying to make a point? Does it mean that all what we do boils down to a point?
